Literary Extravaganza
The first half will be Gilgamesh, Susan's musical retelling of the ancient epic. Based in ancient Iraq and
telling the tragic story of a tyrant king and his best friend, it is the world's oldest known work of literature. After intermission, Susan will perform
Quasimodo, her retelling of The Hunchback of Notre Dame. She will finish the concert with her popular Las Puertas de San Miguel, which
she composed on her annual sabbatical to the picturesque town of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
Halloween Stories
Revel in Susan's aural spookiness as she plays such pieces as The Usher
Waltz and A L'Aube du Dernier Jour, which depicts the last moments of a man as he awaits execution. She includes
storytelling as she includes Quasimodo and The Cat's Meow in this short program which is designed specifically
for schools and libraries.

Travels through Spain
If you love the music of Spain, you're sure to be delighted
by this program. This concert will take you on a journey through the musical history of Spain from the earliest days of Moorish
occupation into the courtly days of the Renaissance and the exquisitely ornamental Baroque period of Padre Soler. The second half of the program will take you through the gardens of the Alhambra and on camel
rides through the desert with the music of Tarrega, followed by a tour through the regions of Spain with the music of Albeniz
and Granados.
The Americas
Travel through South America with Susan
as she plays Latin American favorites, from Argentinian tangos to Brazilian sambas. She will play pieces she discovered and
arranged in her travels south of the border, as well as her own pieces which were inspired by her travels.

Mother and Child
The Mother and Child program begins with The Phases of Eve, which is Susan's lovely musical depiction
of the life of a woman. The stormy rebellion of adolescence is mirrored by the passionate tango of menopause, while the
joys and trials of motherhood are painted in Wonder and The Zoo. While
Susan is playing for the mothers, the children are kept occupied with special coloring pages depicting the creatures they
are about to meet in the second half in The Aquarium: a Marine Micro-Ballet for Guitar and Sea Creatures. After intermission, the children will join their mothers (and grandmothers and aunties) to enjoy
Susan and the Sea Creatures, as Susan accompanies her popular videos of sea creatures "dancing" to her music.
